Peony
6x6 oil on canvas
I got a great tip from Michele Karahalios on yesterdays Slices of Life by Leslie Saeta's 30 in 30 challenge. http://michelekarahalios.fineartstudioonline.com/blog
Michele said that she learned from Qiang Huang to coat the canvas with a thin layer of refined linseed oil. I had this umber value study of a peony that I didn't want to glaze so I gave her technique a try. I loved the way the paint flowed so smoothly. This will definitely be in my bag of tricks in the future! Thanks Michele.
I like the softness and it is so PRETTY!
